Dear Royal Contestant,
Thank you for your interest in being a contestant in the 2024 Berrien County Youth Fair Royalty contest; King & Queen or Prince & Princess.
In order to participate in the contest, the application and release form will need to be completed in legible handwriting by all contestants and turned into the fair office no later than midnight, July 17th. These forms can be downloaded and printed from the fair’s website or copies are available at the fair office. These forms guarantee you a place in the contest; they MUST be received by midnight, July 17th. No exceptions will be made.
On Wednesday, July 24th at 7:00 pm, the royalty committee will be hosting an ice cream social for all participants of the royalty contests at the BCYF Youth Memorial Building. This Get Acquainted event is a strongly suggested requirement for being a contestant in this year’s contest. We also request that a parent or guardian attend with you. If you have an unavoidable conflict, you will need to contact the fair office or Susan Roth at 574/ 340-2616. It is highly recommended that your parent or guardian still attend in your place if you are unable to make it.
At this Get Acquainted event, we will review the practice and the interview schedule, the program for the contest, and share information on contestant attire. We will also discuss the schedule and expectations should you be selected to the royalty court. Please know that your picture will be taken at the event, it will be used for the contest program as well as any media requests regarding the contest. Please come dressed and ready to have an individual plus group photo taken.
We look forward to meeting you at the Get Acquainted event. If you should have any question before then, please, do not hesitate to contact the fair office or Vice-Chairman, Susan Roth.
Sincerely,
BCYF Royalty Committee
